Jay Hendrix
Jay Hendrix is a 14 year old charismatic triple threat who loves to shoot hoops, play ping pong, flip sneakers, and hang out with his friends.
Jay had the honor of touring the U.S. as the character Scut Farkus in the 2021 Broadway national tour of A Christmas Story, the musical, returning after playing the character Flick in the 2019 tour. Prior to his first national tour in 2019, Jay wrapped an 84-show run as Stevie Dewberry in the new musical “Because of Winn Dixie”, alongside an incredibly talented cast, including Broadway legends J. Robert Spencer, Isabel Keating, and Roz Ryan, working directly with Tony-winning Director John Rando (Urinetown) and writers Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and Nell Benjamin (Mean Girls, Legally Blonde), at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT. Jay lights up the stage with his smile and has performed in over 20 musical theater productions, several commercials, and earned his first feature film credit playing a secondary character role in Billy Corben's "Screwball", released April 2019. Jay practices numerous forms of dance including tap, jazz, & hip hop, and enjoys activities that stimulate his creative mind. This math whiz & chess player also has impressive memorization skills and loves to play basketball and try out new moves. Jay completed the Broadway Artists Alliance Jrs. Intensive as a voice major, as well as both Broadway Dreams and Making It On Broadway intensives, giving him the opportunity to learn from and train with some of Broadway's best, including Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, Rob McClure, Quentin Earl Darrington, Samantha Pauly, Jeremy Jordan, Jelani Remy and more. He's a straight A student and a quick study, and is great with dogs, cats, and younger children, including babies. Jay has a coogan account, valid work permits in CA and NY, is fully vaccinated and double-boosted, and is a member of Actors Equity Association. Jay lives in Fort Lauderdale, FL with his mom, dad, Boxer/Shar Pei mix, Beaux Jackpot, and foster cat King Rascal the Great. |
